I agree with the point made in this film about the need for us to have our own Al Jazeera...I am an African immigrant living in the US and often feel frustrated when the only news seen in the Western World about Africa are starving children, genocides, kidnapping of oil workers, etc. What about all the beauty of Africa as shown in this film?
If we Africans don't put out our own news and editorial than others will distort the news and put nonsense out for us!
Yeah the entertainment they give us is all good, but I have found that it mostly focuses on music, comedy shows, soaps and the typical nonsense that does not empower our community and does not teach anything positive about Africa, the needs of our people and what will move us forward...
They are few African news organizations that put out news...but their stories are not even mentioned or featured in well established news channels of the Western World, so really the news about Africa that are seen by the Western World are one sided.
What we need is serious news organizations by Africans to put out the other side of Africa to the world. It is ridiculous...like the trailer shows...we are now 1 BILLION...and I feel we don't have a serious voice!
Until we don't get media power we will just get what others give us...empty entertainment and no control over what is said about us.

Really liked all the topics covered in this African documentary
I have to say that I was really pleased to watch this African movie especially the African music and dance is fantastic!
Look forward to part II soon :)
This side of Africa is really beautiful and I am proud
Proud to own and to pass along....
Getting more out there than just African Safari
Unfortunately people are interested in sensational news and the media programs all they care about is paying bills...ah! so it makes it hard for news to get both sides of the African news...
I agree that we need our own African news...with funds to show other things that people are ignorant about and not only the safari stuff
They only show dirt roads and starving children of Africa
We have to stop this negative African thing that the media is making it seem as if we are just dirt roads and starving children..I wonder if people even think that we have internet over there lol...
Hey other countries/continents don't have this negative media on them and I agree this should just be the beginning...each one of us should do our own part if not no one will do it for us.
Let's do it with African movies and documentaries like this one
I agree and think that there is nothing more powerful than showcasing our own side of Africa with movies and documentaries made by us.
I am from Ghana and I am tired of the negative image on the news about my homeland. Typically what happens is that someone else (reporters, talk shows, bloggers) will tell the story how they see it only and not how it should be....of course most of the time it is not accurate!
We have to start producing more like this African movie with more positive images about the entire continent!
The beautiful side of Africa
Its great that Africa is show cased in this format. The African side is a positive protrayal of Africa. I am very proud. This is just the beginning...
